Just returned from a whirlwind trip to New York to attend the IAPS exhibition at the historic Salmagundi Club. Didn’t win a prize, but I was greatly honored to be included with such great artists, as well as being able to meet them.
This was my first trip to New York, so I tried to pack in as much as possible into 3 days. Got to visit the Frick Collection (a must-see for serious artists), a brief walk through part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, as well as taking a 5 hour tour of major NYC sights in and around Manhattan, including the Statue of Liberty. My husband and I even had caviar in a little place called the Russian Vodka Room.
After recovering from the travel, jet lag, and blisters on my feet, I will be hitting the easel. I was greatly inspired by the excellent work in the IAPS exhibition, and I am anxious to push the boundaries of my comfort zone.
