Oil painting portrait of young woman by Rita RomeroI have been studying the oil painting I did at Virgil Elliott’s workshop, as it was bothering me that it wasn’t finished and didn’t look as realistic as I wanted it to. Being the mistress of procrastination, I thought about it and thought that it would be better to repaint it. So I went so far as to repaint another underpainting. But there were things I liked about the original that I didn’t want to redo. So I decided it would be better and faster just to repaint the original, where things needed changing. Here is a picture of the finished painting. I enhanced the figure to give it more dimension and glazed the background blue. Let me know what you think. Now on to the next project.
